After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and working various careers within the industry, Nicole Yarbrough, founder and owner of Pink Arrows Boutique, decided it was time for a change.

“I had always loved helping people through my various jobs in retail and fashion. Fit and fabrics were really my passions,” she says. “I took an entrepreneurship class online, watched a ton of YouTube videos to learn how to build a website, and then took a chance.”

And that chance paid off. The Benicia-based store has undergone several expansions over the years, the most recent just this past May. The shop, which has a boho-fun vibe, offers covetable items such as kimonos, breezy dresses, funky graphic tees, and an impressive assortment of denim. Customers can look forward to brand names like Free People, Mother, and Show Me Your Mumu—but the most special part? The store’s hour-long private shopping sessions, which are free of charge.
